Salvation

Safety, deliverance, and soundness through Christ

Ephesians 1:4 says, "Long ago, even before God made the world, He chose us to be His very own. He decided to make us holy in His eyes, without a single fault, we who stand before Him covered with His love." God loves you. He proved it through sending His Son to suffer and bear the weight of our sins on a cross. Christ took our place, our punishment upon Him. (Isaiah 53:4-6).

We sinned (we turned our backs on God's way), we turned towards believing in ourselves, thinking we could save ourselves. But when faced with the reality of death, we realized we can't save ourselves. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Because of this turning and falling, we need a Savior. Jesus came to this world to save us.

Through Christ's life, we are offered a gift, an invitation to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us that our response is believe/faith in Christ, to confess our sins, to repent (turn towards God) and be baptized (immersed in water) and to be raised in newness of life to follow Christ (disciples) with our whole life, (Lordship).

This is a gift. We can, because of choice - ignore or reject this gift through Christ. We can doubt God's love, we can even go so far as to reject this love. But you will NEVER find this kind of unconditional love anywhere else.
