Youth Ministry Philosophy

As a youth ministry we exist to solidify the faith of our students and to prepare them for a life of ministry. We will do this through equipping them through-

  • Ephesians 4:11-13- 11It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, 12to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
  • 1 Thess. 5:17- pray continually
  • James 4:7- resist the devil and he will flee from you
  • Gal 3:28- There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
  • Psalm 34:8- Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
  • Hebrews 5:12-14- In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Crucial Aspects of our Ministry

  • Discipling (personal)
  • Sound Biblical teaching and training (Sunday/Wednesday)
  • Focused Teaching/Training (D-Groups)
  • Opportunities to serve in outreach within the community
  • Adult sponsors who take personal interest in each students life
  • Major Events (Outreach to others, Unity of Group)
  • Missions trips to illustrate contrast and cultures
  • Opportunities for study for those who have not made a decision for Christ and been baptized

 How is success measured?

  1. All students have been made a decision for Christ, being baptized and received the gift of the Holy Spirit
  2. An obvious Christian nature through which students conduct themselves
  3. Transformed Lives producing fruit (fruit of the spirit)
  4. Influencing and leading friends and others into a relationship with Christ
  5. Relationships with deep roots (truth speaking, accountability, love)
  6. Equipping students to transition into the world with a viable, defendable, lifestyle faith...being a disciple
