BAPTISM
Being buried with Christ for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit Baptism is a death to sin and becoming alive in Christ. No person is commanded (Matthew 28:19,20) to be baptized unless they are capable of understanding the gospel of Christ and their willingness to accept it. The word baptism as it appears in the New Testament means immersion, the process of full submersion in water. During biblical times the word baptizo was tied to the dying of materials. Cloth would be submerged into a color and completely covered, thus something new came out. (2 Corinthians 5:17). Acts 2:36-38, Acts 22:16, Romans 6:3-6, John 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21
