STUDENT MINISTRY PURPOSE & PHILOSOPHY

STUDENT MINISTRY PURPOSE

One word can say a lot.  With just one word you can state a purpose, cast a vision, paint a picture.  But it has to be the right word.  Our purpose, our vision, our picture, our word, is STAND.

WHY STAND?  At DaySpring, everything we do is all about moving from Acorn to Oak.  We are all on that growth journey.  As a Student Ministry, we feel it’s important that we identify with that.  An oak tree is a powerful picture of what it means to stand firm (1 Corinthians 16:13) in the faith.  We want to cultivate that kind of future for the students.  We want students to stand as oaks amidst the storms and trails of life.  We want them to stand as oaks in God’s Kingdom.  We want them to stand as oaks in their schools and communities.  By the way, did you know that a grouping of trees is sometimes referred to as a stand?  Again, a good picture of the Body of Christ.  We don’t and can’t stand alone!
